CMH Institute of Medical Sciences Bahawalpur and its teaching hospital (Combined Military Hospital Bahawalpur) are located in the heart of the historic city of Bahawalpur, the city of palaces. The college and hospital are spread over an area of about 40 acres.

The foundation stone of the college was laid in April 2015 by Chief of the Army Staff General Raheel Shareef, NI(M). The project turned into reality in March 2017 with the inauguration of the college campus by Chief of the Army Staff General Qamar Javed Bajwa, NI(M).

The college campus consists of all the basic medical science departments, the learning resource center including a digital library, lecture halls, dissection hall, and museums. The college has a highly qualified faculty achieving the highest medical education and training standards.
